NO

6 year olds and tailgates don't mix, that kid might think all tailgates are spring or gas assisted. Mine would kill a kid.

JB.

I was just cracking a joke about the gooseneck hitch, i cant find them funny faces everyone is using. Put the cylinder on for the kids and other people to stop dropping my tailgate open, there the ones not making the note on it.

The little things like the man step and the way the tail gate operates on the fords and the titans are very nice options, Dodge should of started years ago putting them on their trucks
No they shouldn't. These little gimmicks are cute for the "truck" buyer that wants a pickup to go to the mall with low bed height, man step, a soft light tailgate, etc... but gimme a break! What's next a push button on the remote that lowers the tailgate for you like the soccer mom vans?
I hate those tailgates with the springs and torsion bars. They are so slow to open, you need to pop the latch then wait for it to slowly lower plus they can be a pain to remove.

How is that any different than any other one?

Must be something different about Dodge's, cause they are high lighting it in the sales nomenclature. Not sure what though.

My dodge doesn't have a tailgate or a "man step". Does that mean I shouldn't let my kid use it to move the pop-up around the yard

Since you truck dont have a tailgate, then there is no place to put a so called man-step.

This is my man step, notice the grab handle on the rack above. Makes it very easy to get in and out sometimes several times a day. Makes 3 steps to get into bed, step-bumper-bed.

Have broken a few over the years backing into things, but well worth it.

JB.

The step on my service truck is a "break away" type.. Used on alot of the larger construction and mining equipment.
Its made of steel cable for the uprights that are connected to a step at the bottom. If you run over something or back into a curb, it just gives...

Yep... I can remove my tailgate in just a few moments..
