What Jacques said. That bendix should jump all the way out to the end of the opening smartly and stay there as long as you crank the starter... Two screws on the front of the solenoid aond remove the jumper tab tot he motor housing and you can retract the solenoid from the chassis. You will see the linkage to the lever that pushes the gear out. There is a slotted screw head between the solenoid and the gear, you can see it in the test video. That is the pivot for the lever... It has an offset bearing surface and a locknut to allow you to fine tune how far the gear engages by rotating that screw...
