farm pro 2425 clutch slipping

   / farm pro 2425 clutch slipping #21
I'm new on here so bear with me. Sounds like I've been lucky so far because I bought a farm pro 304 in 2007 .The dealer that sold it to me went out of business and left town before I could get my manual or even a title. That being said I've put that tractor through **** and never had any trouble with it until now except tac and hydraulic leaks. The clutch has never felt right to me and for the longest time it wouldn't take off in any gear unless I let it all the way out . Then it was let it all the way out and wait a sec before it would go. Now it will hardly go at all and if so , it has no power. Yesterday I was trying to take off and heard a grinding sound for a second then I shut it down. I've adjusted the linkage so it's not that. I'm pretty mechanically inclined but have never worked on a tractor. Is it possible to adjust the clutch inside or am I screwed. If so , how bad.

farm pro tractors

I have a farm pro 304 tractor with a louder loader . Though I know people that haven't , I've put this tractor through the ringer and it has been the stoutest tractor of its size I've ever had. No problems at all except minor stuff until now. I've always had to completely let the clutch out for it to go. Now if it goes at all , it has no power at all . Will barely take off , if at all. I've adjusted the linkage before and it changed nothing. Is there anyway for me to fix by adjusting it inside or am I screwed. I've never worked on tractors but am pretty mechanically inclined. Please help if anyone can tell me what to try. I don't know how to get by without it. I don't know if it matters but my pto works fine but my loader bleeds off fast and it's never done that before . I could lift tractor off the ground to work on it and it would stay for days. Thank u for any help.

First guess is throw out bearing. If true, it means splitting the tractor to replace the clutchpack.

Sounds now like you've got two separate problems. Clutch, as addressed above - and hydraulic. Regarding the latter, does your rear lift arms drop as well?
