Hmm, seems to be a lost branch in this thread /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

From here: Link the TC30 looks to be the size of a 254/284, not a 304/354. The comparisson should be Jinma 284 vs NH TC30.

The TC30 specs are a bit light, so couldn't compare as much as I wanted to. TC30 has 91cu in engine, JM254 has 93cu in. TC30 has 63in wheelbase, JM 254 65in. The JM is larger in all overall dimensions. Would have like to compare weights, but TC30 only had only 2wd weight. I'd guess that the JM is heavier. From a pure tractor size, based on specs, the JM254/284 is slightly larger than a TC30.

Given some of the pricing posted for JM284s, and TC30, you can make the claim that the TC30 is ABOUT 2X the cost.

I purchased a new 25 hp 4wd with the chinese fel from Homier on May 1st of this year for 7500.00 at a farm show. I have had two warrrantee issues which were taken care immediately. Butch is their service tech and is very knowlegeable and full of sh--.. Fun guy just to talk to, and he knows his stuff

Everyone talks about a 184 or 224, but I was at a local dealer the other day and was looking at a 2420 if I remember correctly. This was a Farm Pro tractor by Homier (spelled right?).

What is the difference in model numbers? The 2420 was a 2WD unit, 20HP, turf tires, and canopy for $4500. This is the same dealer I purchased my finish mower from (China mower). Are these older tractors? Did the model numbers change? I am just trying to get on the same sheet of music.

Okay, I'm seeing quite a bit of support for the Jinma, here. I bought a crate tractor Jinma 354. I knew what I wanted and had argue with most of the outlets, they like to sell value added products, but finally got what I wanted and after a year I have no regrets. The warranty stuff was a non starter in my book. The guy I bought from just smiled and did not even speak when the subject come up, 1 yr. time started when it left the factory, which was 6 mo earlier. Most all my parts are mail order, but haven't needed much so far. I bought price driven. A tractor would not have happened if it were not for the crate Jinma. I'm a poor boy. A FEL is not a good idea in my opinion. The Jinmas have front axle issues. This get blamed on operating errors, still, a pretty expensive repair no matter whos at fault.

If you need close, on the spot dealer support probably go with big 3. I've seen some ugly moments tryin' to get warranty from those people, also. Your neibors will make fun of the Chinese tractor. So beware of grief of what others think. bjr

But just wait till they ask you [or better yet see it running],three years later,,,they don't have same look on their faces that they did when you first bought it,,,,I've actually seen one neighbor of mines face go from a self contented smile to a almost frown,,,when he asked how my chinese tractor was still running,,,three years later,,,,when I first got it he chuckled,,,,revenge is good,,,,,,,,,he has two or three older tractors big three brand,,,and he really needs them,,he puts up a lot of hay and has cattle,,,,,but he is constanly working on them,,,he was like me,,he couldn't afford a new big three,,,so he choose to buy very used ones,,,and he wouldn't have it any other way,,,amazing,,,he coulda bought 2 new 35-40 h.p. chinese tractors,,,for less than he's got in those used ones,,,,and I'm betting,,,not be breaking down every summer,,,,,speaking of making fun of someones tractor,,,,to me anyways,,,people who have a 18,000 dollar tractor,,,,,and have maybe 2 -3 acres,,,,,,making payments on it,,,clearing out other peoples drive way in the suburbs,,,cause,,,well,they gotta do something with it,,,,now those are the kinda people I like to make fun of,but,,,,thats just me,,,thingy

Most of us have more sense of decency and intellect though. I don't know anyone who likes to be made fun of for any reason. I have to agree with them in that doing so shows a lack of personal esteem and a lack of self confidence. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
