Doesn't that unit have a manual shut off lever on it?? by the throttle stop screws?? {above or below}
IF IT DOES.. just unscrew the sol. until it doesn't interfere w/ the operation of the engine & use the stop "lever" to shut it off..
99 x outta 100 your getting off the tractor anyway.. just reach in & flick the lever..??

I would need to close off the solenoid hole to keep oil from spewing out while running. I wish it did have a lever for shut off. I'll post a picture of the pump later.

Try some of that "Gorilla Tape"/Flex Tape/Duct Tape.. & a piece of thin cardboard..
Really anything to stop the "splash oil".. just for a few minutes..

Sorry for the late response. I went another route on fixing the solenoid intermittent problem. It apparently goes through a couple of relays and the starter system. It didn't ever seem to get enough voltage to pull the relay in when starting the tractor. I hooked up a momentary switch from a 12 volt source to the solenoid pull wire. I can activate the solenoid with this switch after I hear my glow plug relay kick out and then start the engine. The momentary switch won't stay on so the pull wire only has power for a second or two. The hold wire keeps the solenoid pulled in while the tractor is running. Turn the key off and the tractor shuts down. Its just one extra step I have to do on starting and its safe and it works every time. My tractor is running great! Thanks for all of your responses and help for getting my injector leaks solved and this tractor up and running again..

They should have never went to the electric solenoid, if it was a manual shutoff it would never fail and leave people stranded without a clue of what's wrong with the tractor..

Very true. Its a complicated system just to shut off the fuel. Manual shut off would be a lot better

BC, WHERE are u pulling the power FROM??
Straight off the starter BIG wire would be my "guess" OR straight off the battery.. THEN run thru a toggle..{that's how I would do it}
