Farm windmill takedown

   / Farm windmill takedown #11
I bought one a couple years ago that was in good running condition and took it down with a 50ft boom crane. They charged $90 dollars an hr and it cost $120 and that included running time. It was simple, I had the wrenches ready when they got there and the nuts off. They just hooked up to the top and I pulled the bolts and they lifted the whole 50 ft thing up and slowly laid it down. Then I took it apart in three sections and put it on my trailer. I brought it home and repainted it and put it up the same way and it looks great. The only hard part is getting up the nerve to climb up and put the oil in. 50 ft is a long way up /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I found the Aermotor site and that is what the windmill is. Looks like all parts are still available, as well as assembly instructions and manuals.

www.aermotorwindmill.com

New one can be purchased for over $2500, it appears.

Pretty impressive.
