Jim,
You said they would not release your tractor so you could repair it yourself, what's the story on this? Have you spoken with an lawyer?
I was hoping you would be able to get it going on your own and be working it by now.

Thank you Maka. I appreciate all the prayers and other help I have received here at TBN and abroad. God has given me the strength to do this and the property to do this. I am going tomorrow to speak with an attorney. From there we will see what will happen. It was the closest appointment I could get. Unfortunately the window of planting is closing so I have began to do as much as I can with what I have to work with. The wheels of JUSTICE seem to turn mighty slow and these people are hungry. If I have to plant it like it is I will. Thankfully they back dragged it with the 953 Cat so it loosened the soil a little. It's much harder work but God will give me the strength and I will be God's tool to make this become a reality.

Yes I had some of them come down and help me pick up rocks and roots from the cleared area. These people are willing to help what they can. Some of them are able and others are not physically able. The ones that are laided off are helping what they can while being out looking for work they drop by. With this fuel prices being outta site... their money is even more limited and will not go as far. We are all hurting with the fuel prices. I am also afraid once they get up there in price it will never go down and the wages surely are NOT going up in our area. If this keeps up there will be a lot more people to help because many businesses will not be able to stay open. I think that this is a way to squeeze the little man out. Just my opinion. I don't understand their theory... the Little Man is the back bone of this country and are the ones that keep the country afloat. Again... just my opinion.

OK I skimmed through most of this thread and noticed that a lot of members here preferred green orange or blue, and maybe red.

That's fine, everyone can get what they want.

Now, I love my 300DTC. I got it for $17000.00 out the door. That included a 5' mower, box blade, phd with 6", 9", and 12" bits, PLUS an aluminum canopy!

Since I purchased it, she has 120 hours of rough use over the last year. I filled the rear tires with water, added some hooks on the bucket, and bolted up a Markham tooth bar.

The ONLY problem I have had with this tractor is the routing of some of the hydraulic hoses. Where they go around frame members, there are some sharp spots that wore through the first layer of the hose. My dealer replaced them at N/C.

One of the biggest items that drew me to this tractor was that the FEL was rated at 1700 lbs, which is more than any other tractor in its class or price range. One other big plus is that the new FEL's are now quick attach!

Bottom Line:
I don't regret EVER buying this tractor. ( other than the cost of the filters and that Baldwin and Racor don't have oem replacements yet /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

I want to back up a bit from my last post.

My wife and I looked at several colors of tractors starting with the HLSR 2 years ago. Not only did we have to find a tractor that I was comfortable with, we had to find one that my wife was comfortable with. When we looked at the 300 DTC and took it for a spin, she felt very comfortable using it.

Once it was decided that the FarmTrac was what we wanted, I faxed and emailed all of the FarmTrac dealers in Texas as well as a few in Oklahoma and Louisianna.

My best bid came from 200 miles away, so I offered my local dealer a chance to match it. He didn't hesitate one bit.

Now, this process of finding the right dealer to buy from has a lot of different variables: service after the sale, parts, things like that. But all in all, our experience was A+.

( Hmmm... The Mahindra... I am going to look at it today or tomorrow. Won't that put me into another over seas made tractor without the proper warranty?

The reason I was looking at the Kubota is it would give me a more versatile tractor of which I could make extra money with and also I have decided to do a small nursery here so I can make more money to support what I am doing and possibly allow me to go full time here rather than work a public job and do this. I will look at the Mahindra 3510... I would like a Shuttle Shift Option.. does that 3510 have this option?

Thanks for all the input. For once I am taking my time to make sure I get a quality tractor and one that I can depend on.

Thanks about the info on the Kubota as well... I don't need one to start breaking down as soon as I get it. It would put me right back where I am.

I am leaving now to get turnip seed, collard seed, broccoli seed and cabbage plants to get them in the ground working the earth by hand. I sure miss my tractor and the easier and more efficient way I could prepare the soil. I am sure the produce would grow better if the ground was prepared better but it will just have to do. A little help will be better than none for these people.

Jim, the Mahindra 3510 (little brother to a 4110) is not going to be a tractor with no warranty. This tractor comes with a three-year warranty (as opposed to the 30 day warranty the used Kubota comes with). I can tell you that a three-year warranty buys a lot of peace of mind.

Standard featurs on the 3510 that are options on many of the big three tractors of similar size include foldable ROPS, 12 X 12 shuttle shift tranny, draft control, Live PTO, and even amenities like arm rests.

The 3510 is somewhat heavier than other tractors in its class, and weight is important when it comes to plowing and other ground engaging tasks.

You aren't going to find a tractor in the size you are looking for that is not made overseas. The final assembly for compact tractors is done in the USA, but they are all manufactured overseas. The top tractors are manufactured in Japan or Korea.

The national trend is for the Mahindra and Kioti brands of tractors to be priced a couple of thousand less than similarly equiped New Holland, Massey Ferguson, John Deere and Kubota dealers.

I spent over five months shopping and researching before I made my purchase. If I had to do it all over again I would still go with the Mahindra.

Thanks.. unfortunately it will be tomorrow (Friday) before I get to look at the Mahindra. I had to go get seeds and fertilizer and plant my first row today. That took presidence over looking for a tractor. Tomorrow I go to my attorney in reference to my Shbaura SD2200 4X4 and then after that I go shopping for a tractor. I am trying to do my part on fuel conservation so I am driving my small car that gets 30 mpg and making as few trips out as I can. I have also cut any travel plans for Labor Day weekend and will be working here in the "Truck Patch Garden" as well. We all have to do our part now as this country is in a Crisis as I see it.
