FARMTRAC TRACTORS

Was in town today, waiting for the wife, and walked down to the local farmtrac dealer, concentrated on the 270tc, nice machine , seems very well built and also appears to be quite heavy. Seems they cleaned up the operator platform since i last looked at them and was impressed with how solid it looked, even the hydraulic lines seemed heavier than most in that size.This is just general observations and not an in depth study, just thought i would thow it out here for folks that are looking. I know if i was looking to buy i would most certainly check them out. i have no personal interest in long tractors nor in the dealer. Ed King (the purple tractor man) has a long. I did not know they were Farmtrack...I saw his and some others at his dealers and I agree they look pretty good...

BILL: I looked at them when i was buying, but at that time they seemed a little cluttered, and the price was a bit steep,(but that could be the dealer) but i would definetly consider them now, although they are heavy and a bit tall (but that is just for me, might not fit in garage door) i was impressed with the foot steps and the hand holds built on the fenders.

I looked at them in my recent tractor search. Seemed solid, lots of rust on the units at the dealer. No hydro in the category (24-27 HP) I was looking at, and not that much cheaper than the big 3. I would've thought that they'd be priced more aggressively.

That was pretty much my experience when I saw them. I was shocked at the prices the dealer quoted me, and he was a jerk, so I didn't let it get to the real negotiating stage before I took off running.

I'm pretty sure the Farmtrac and Montana's compact tractors up to around 40 HP are basically the same machines .

I think they are both manufactured by LG.

The Farmtrac and Montana are made in South Korea

Just a few thoughts on this thread...

The compact FarmTracs are made in South Korea, the untility tractors are made in India (right next to the John Deere plant).

The whole price thing kind of gets me laughing. At some point buyers have to overcome the idea that just because a compact FarmTrac cost as much as a compact Kubota or Deere doesn't mean they are equal machines. FarmTracs come with many standard features not found on the "big 3" at a price that is equal to or often times cheaper then the "big 3." Obviously price differs from region to region and store to store.

We sell a lot of FarmTracs and are pleased with the whole line except their obvious lack of anything hydro under 32hp, or any compact under 27hp (thats what we have other brands for I guess). But they are great machines and for the $ you are getting a lot of features not normally found on tractors in that hp/$ range.
