Nothing like that has come down through "official channels"...............

Unoffically??
anything new on LS or the parts for Indian tractors.

Remember the parts are to come from over seas-slow boats from Korea and India! Or is it carrier pigeon? Then the parts have to go through customs, etc etc. Long slow process.

Anything to do with Farmtrac and the receiver will be even slower since the Courts are involved. They say patience is a virtue!

I was a farmtrac dealer, however i have closed due to a disability. I have most of the manuals farmtrac sent me as a new dealer. I will sell any or all for a reasonable price. I also have some tractors if anybody wants one. claycotr@swbell.net

Hello everyone,

This is my first post in here. I have read the entire thread from beginning to current and I am floored at what has happened. My thoughts go out to all the dealers, employees, and customers that were affected by this. You have my empathy and support. From my screenname you may be able to gather that I own a 2005 Farmtrac 300DTC. I bought it about 6 months ago on ebay from a private owner and couldn't be happier with it. It does everything that I have asked of it and more, although it is still farely new (only about 76 hours on it...only had 32 on it when I bought it). I did my research and knew about the receivership issue when I was purchasing the tractor, but felt pretty safe being that the tractor shares a lot of characteristics and parts with its Montana counterpart (the 3040). I have performed the routine 50 hour maintenance on it and as of yet have not had any problems attaining any parts...so far just filters and such. The FarmTrak dealers and Montana dealers that I have spoken to have all been overly helpful. I have already bought enough parts for the next scheduled maintenance just to make sure that I have them. I only hope that the availability of more specialized parts does not run out. I don't know the details of how the manufacturing facility in Tarboro was liquidated, but I can only hope that the manufacturing molds/equipment were sold to an entity that has intentions of continued production of parts, instead of melting them down for scrap. To the dealers, I wish you the best in whatever legal strategy you are formulating.

Ryan, thank you for your kind words, the 300DTC you purchased is a fine little tractor and will give years of good service if properly maintained, which I'm sure you will do judging from your post.
your unit was not manufactured in Tarboro NC, but rather in south korea by LS Cable, none of LS's production facilities or equipment have been affected by any of these problems.the issue has been one of distribution and sales in the US, which was controled by the Indians.
The indications are that the issue will be resolved shortly and that sales and parts distribution of LS equipment will resume in the USA.

The problem dealers have been fighting has not been with LS Cable, but rather with the floorplan company involving financing issues among others.
the support of faithful customers and friends such as yourself ,across this nation, have given the dealers heart to continue to fight for the customer as well as the survival of their dealerships.

when this struggle is finally concluded, you may be assured that when you enter a tractor dealership, whatever the brand name shall be, your concerns will be of utmost importance to the dealer. if I have learned anything at all from this experience, it would be that for the most part people who choose to work in this industry have a strong sense loyalty and honesty to the customer, their product and to each other.I have been priviledged to have met and struggled along side of some of the finest AMERICANS I have ever known. This is still the greatest place on earth to live.thanks for your support.

The dealer fraternity needs to be congratulated on their efforts.I am sure that LS cables will remain in the market as they have a lot at stake in Montana. The issue will remain with the floor plan and with the parts availability for Indian tractors because assuming Ls cables takes over they will not be interested in dealiing with Escorts as i believe they have legal issues.
Parts will be the key thing for the future as even the reciever will not be able to do anything.
