FarmTrac Troubles

SAME website. I must admit I had not seen this before today. Never had a reason I guess.

I can tell this is a very stale site. The contact person left Farmtrac just after the contract with SAME was signed.

Lot of water over the dam since then.

I guess what I found to be strange when I went to the Same-tractor site suggested by Modo, was that Farmtrac was listed as the importer and the Georgia location was listed as an affiliate.the strange part was that the Georgia location had No phone-No fax and No e-mail address,in fact the only contact was at Farmtrac in Tarboro. however Tim you are probably right.but they sure have took a long time to correct this website. thanks for the info---Taxpayer

I'm sure that's what folks said when Ford, Allis Chalmers,David Brown, Leyland, Oliver, Cockshut, Avery, Ferguson, Massey-Harris,Mpls Moline and Long to name a few shut down, merged or was bought out. You can still get parts for all those if you know where to look. I'll be the first to say I'm sure sorry this happened to Farmtrac USA. I own one and I have no worries about parts. So far as service I got better service from my Farmtrac dealer than any of the other name brands listed and more. The days of service when it was at it's best went out the door in the late 70's. I remember when tractor and even automobile dealers would come to your home or farm and try and make trades. All that's way behind us now.

I expect my Farmtrac to last as long as any other tractor I've ever had. And don't forget that Farmtrac in India is still going strong with sales in many countries around the world.

Look at IH when they had the line of tractors. Many thought they had the best tractors out there. In this day and time any company can go belly up no matter how big or how much profit they make. All it takes is the wrong decision makers to sway the company in the wrong direction. The going thing today is CEO's that make more money than ever, sending companies down the tubes and walking out with millions in bonuses from their failures. Then move on to the next sucker company and start the same old same old all over again. Remember money is behind this debacle as it is in any when this happens. If we had a clear picture of the money trail we'd all know what happened to Farmtrac USA.

I think several folks here do know and can't say in public and I understand that. It's just a shame that pure justice can't be used to the fullest extent, if this is a case with Farmtrac. Since the whole thing has been kinda hushed from the beginning with no solid answers as to why this problem occurred it all leaves me smelling snakes in the woodpile, which I suspected from the beginning. It's hard not to suspect in these times we're in now. The Farmtrac is to good of a machine and sold so well where it was offered not to make money. As I posted back in this same thread. Where is the MONEY? When we see proof of where the money went then we'll know why.

Hope your tractor company can hang through these times. I expect to see more of the same for some time to come.
Charolais,
Very well said. The people who have courage to buy FARMTRAC now will likely get a bargain of a life time. Tractors from other sources may be just as risky. Think about it --Case bought IH because IH was in financial trouble--Then NH bought Case-IH because Case-IH was in trouble--AGCO bought Massey because Massey was in trouble--Did any of this make CNH or AGCO immune to financial trouble if there are fire sales of FARMTRAC tractors. AGCO, CNH and JD all have good prospectuses but books have been cooked before by bigger companies than they. All life is a gamble. I don't know how many FARMTRACs were sold retail prior to this mess but I have been told (in about 1999 or 2000) that there are over 80,000 Long or Longtrac sold since the middle 60's. Tim may know how many FARMTRAC were sold. I suspect it is enough to warrant after market parts companies to sit up and take notice. If not you can always buy parts from the higher price source CNH. I recently needed a part for a Long that wasn't available otherwise so I called a CNH dealer friend who faxed me a parts page from a CNH Fiat tractor and I picked out the part number. I had to pay CNH price for the part though and that was nearly double FARMTRAC price.

No we have not received anything. I guess I am trying to patiently wait?? I think all of us dealers and the general public have been more than patient with this process. I know these things take time but this is getting really bad. I think the most simple and honest thing to do is for Escort to take all the inventory from the U.S. (including Dealers) and dist. it throughout the rest of the word where they are still selling the product! Just change the sticker to the Powertrac or what ever it is and everyone is happy! However pigs have not grown wings so I guess my requst is in the same category. Growing tired is really where I am. The public and dealers are really losing more than anyone else. I would love to tell a customer that these are great tractors (which they are) and now you can buy one and save a bunch of money. Oh well I guess we will see what happens Wednesday! Maybe we wil receive a memo is the cover of darkness.

well, another day and still no startling revelations from the powers that be,but I don't think anyone is very suprised, after all,as the old saying goes,"they must just consider us as mushrooms, because they feed us a steady diet of Bu**s**t and keep us in the dark". on another note, there has been some talk of the dealers being ecouraged to join with NAEDA to maybe file a class action suit.I don't know exactly who such a suit would be against. I think the dealers would be wise to do some research on who is working with who. let me suggest everyone check out North American Equipment Dealers Association, take note of their Partner Programs and who they are affiated with,Now ask yourself, who is expecting the dealers to pay them for the tractors that the dealers have been stuck with? if you feel comfortable with it,then by all means join.if not, maybe by sharing information we can find a better way to bring pressure to bear on the ones who have been knowingly decieving the dealers all along.---Taxpayer PS: nothing on the Lewpack thing yet.let you know as soon as we get it.
