Not to get off the subject too much, but the reason you see so much foreign ownership of business like hotels and convenience stores, etc is because if a foreign buyer buys a certain size business, he can get legal residence status for his whole family to run the business.
Nothing like the smell of Indian food knocking you off your feet when you walk into a motel office.

And he gets government money loans to buy the business for 2 years. When the 2 years is almost over, he sells to a family member and has a loan, etc, etc. Its easier for foreigners to get money in this country than the US citizens. Crazy!

Who do you think the Federal Government is borrowing that money from----you and me think again-----China and India!!!!Just Facts check it out. They are buying us one day-- one dollar at a time and we can't even see it. 30 years ago Home Loans were backed by US Citizens savings---Heck today we owe more than we have---credit cards etc....!!!! Who owns the paper on the credit card companies---you and me think again!!!! Like T. Boone says 700 Billion is alot of little Blue Tractors!!!! I think I am going to open a bicycle shop---- wind power and hot air ain't that about the same thing!!!

Hope someone is starting to understand why the Feds could care less about a few million dollars worth of blue tractors. They got to find a way to sell the rest of the country for less than 1/2 price. Did anyone say Budweiser Beer!!!! Is DEERE NEXT??????

Our goverment sold us out years ago.Take a good look who owns most of the business in the USA.Every country we have went to war with China,Japan ,Korea,Etc..Our goverment makes all these loans free interest, they take all the money with them when they leave and then some leaving the american people to foot the bill. They bail out airlines, banks,Etc but the small business defends our own till we are drained. They keep up other countries when we have ederly and young children needing help in our own country. How much more can we take.
Sorry ,But this really p----- me .

I was at former Farmtrac dealer the other day as I am needing some work done that should have been covered under warranty. I asked dealer if there was any warranty coverage on these tractors yet and he stated none at this time and if it weren't for this being a Ford spinoff, parts availability would be limited at best. Later that night, while looking on the website "www.tractorhouse.com", I came across a dealer that is selling 2008 Farmtrac tractors and stating tractor comes with 3 year drivetrain and 1 year everything warranties. My question is this dealer making the warranty himself, how is he getting parts to honor warranty work? Any input or info would be appreciated. To the men that are digging on this subject and posting, I appreciate what you are doing. Most people would have taken their lumps and walked away. After reading every post since this mess began, I can tell that these dealers that are not letting this go are sincere, honest, hardworking people who truly care about their customers, unlike the scumbags that started this mess. You guys remind me of me, a hard headed Irishman who won't quit. Keep up the good work.

TIM D-

Here is what we Farmtrac dealers know:

The warranty being offered on NEW tractors only is provided by the floorplan company until October, after October the dealer and/or potential customer will have to purchase the warranty themselves. The warranty is through a third party company and quite frankly we know little about it.

Parts is one of our biggest concerns these days. Last week a few of the Farmtrac Dealer Council members flew to London (as in England!) to meet with Escorts and LS Cable (Textron Financial who is the floor plan company for the tractors we hold on our lots was also there) to discuss parts being shipped to the dealers again. We dealers are trying to come up with a co-op program to get parts again. This is something that we are going on our own to try and get things back to a workable solution for past, present and potential future customers. I have not gotten any word on how that meeting went, but our hopes are high that there was good news learned from that!

I can tell you that for the last 6/7 months, the dealers have been keeping each other supplied with parts. Headquarters in Tarboro is just about out of anything worth wild, so we dealers contact each other and find what we have to have and then ship all around the USA. Using OEM parts also! Lack of parts right now is not a big problem for us. Might not be immediately at the dealers finger tips, but he can find it!

We dealers appreciate the positive comments you have for us. January 18 when this Farmtrac mess blew up was like a cement block against the side of the head! Didn't see it coming. And honestly did not think we would be sitting here 7 months later still clueless as to what is going to happen! We dealers know that we just have to keep the tractors up and running-because a tractor is worthless broke down. Its been a very trying time for the 285 dealers across the USA. I hope come January 18, 2009 there are still at least half of the 285 dealers still in business, but it sure doesn't look good!

Please continue to support your local dealer. Thank you!

There are a few folks that might care about envelopes (not ones with white powdery substance) that tend to periodically fall off of your desk, though.
