I have a Fasse valve to use with a grapple on my loader. It seems to be bypassing at a certain pressure. When you activate the grapple it grips down to a certain point then it is like it bypasses and the curl function moves instead of the grapple gripping tighter.

Thanks for any help.

I would suggest that the solenoid is not holding. Weak solenoid.

There is no relief on that Fasse valve.

Do you actually have 12 volts at the solenoid. Have you measured the voltage?

Does your valve solenoid have a manual hold down pin in the top of the solenoid. If it does, push it in to see if the grapple will operate correctly.

Thanks JJ I will check the voltage and look for a manual hold down. Do you know by chance if the solenoid is replaceable or is the whole valve shot? Thanks again for getting me pointed in the right direction. I will look up my paperwork and see what model I have.

Thanks again,

Todd

You should be able to get new solenoids.

You might need to remove the solenoid and spool and inspect for any debris, and maybe clean.

There are two currents, an inrush current and a holding current.

You can also measure the resistance of the coil.

12v divided by the resistance = current.

Fasse should provide specs for the coil.
