thru advice from other tbners, i have added accessories to my tractor such as a toothbar. all of my add-ons so far have been really nice and handy.

BUT.....

this weekend i put on one of them roller ball thing-a-ma-jiggers on my steering wheel. (forget the name of it)

that is the coolest thing since sliced bread! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

i think all thats left to add is a cupholder /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

anyone else add a cheap/dumb add-on that ended up being really nice?

Spinner knob, suicide knob, whatever you want to call it. I sure makes mowing a lot easier with all the turning. You did get an orange one didn't you? I had to find a green one before I put mine on. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

John, You named the most important accessory second ! A swivel cup holder for my MT Dew or beverage of your choice.
MY IH steers with one finger, no suicide knob needed here.

Seems to me if you're a IH owner you would drink Coke. Mt Dew should be for Deere drivers, shouldn't it?

Mine also steers easily with one finger and that is the way I spun the wheel on corners for the first 3 years. Then I decided to try a knob. I would not go back. With PS the steering wheel does not try to kick back on rough ground.

Well it wasn't cheap but then again what is today. The one single add-on that converted my machine into a real workhorse was the tooth-bar. Until you try one for FEL work you won't know what you are really missing. I read here at the TBN site how guys were saying that a tooth-bar is like putting your bucket on steroids. I now believe that that is a fair statement to make considering the extra digging ability that you will gain if you add one.

Then again considering the cost of the FEL I guess 300 to 400 dollars is actually a cheap investement in added digging HP. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I agree with Mike...tooth bar. I leveled an ATV "race track" with 18" hard packed berms on my new property (the track was 50 yards long, figure 8) in under two hours. The tooth bar probably saved me the cost of a box blade to knock it down. I got the carbide replaceable teeth.

Besides the stuff that actually gets work done (toothbar etc). My dealer gave me a magnetic insulted 1 quart drinking bottle that just sits on the fender...made by StukCup
