John Wayne always did a heck of a job, as he did in True Grit, but Glen Campbell never could act. Unless he was acting like he couldn't act

Glen Campbell was terrible, but John Wayne made up for it.

All these movies are top billing but "Unforgiven" I think is the best. It captures all the spirit of a western and looks at it without the cartoonishness that Hollywood usually gives the characters. I work with people like those in the movie, good and bad.

Of course, I still giggle about the book title: "The Duck of Death."

Well, Roy.... There's a good reason why I don't post MY picture.

"The Beguiled" with Geraldine Page wasn't bad; I haven't seen it mentioned. Clint did some pretty lame movies during the 80's (those monkey movies, and his singing movies leave a lot to be desired although I liked Paint Your Wagon). I liked the Spaghetti Westerns, especially "Dollars" series but Hang 'Em High and High Plains Drifter were good. At least the other actors were speaking English. Thunderbolt and Lightfoot was excellent. There are some crazy scenes in it, such as the hair-lip driver with a trunk full of rabbits. Made no sense, but I loved it.

And finally, I sat down alone one night and watched Bridges of Madison County, expecting the worst. I actually enjoyed it.
