For anyone that enjoys the followup to Sons of Anarchy's Mayans MC, you'll be pleased to hear that it's getting a second season. I've got that site bookmarked because the networks always go on a cancel frenzy shortly after the new season as apparently they haven't figured out that their forty some odd year old menu of doctor / lawyer / cop show diet is becoming tedious amid the cable and streaming smorgasbord.

Any thing with Tony Bourdain, Chefs tour, the layover, destion unknown, etc. Still don't believe he killed himself.

Enjoy our CBC shows. They cost us billions!

I don't know why but I have been watching 1puglife.com on youtube.

Kind of a cross between bubbles on trailer park boys, red green and Peewee Hermin.

I've never heard of most of the shows you guys mentioned, but all we have is the most basic cable package...mostly off-air channels and a couple of others. No streaming, not worth the money IMHO.

For current shows I like the NCIS series (mostly LA & the original, New Orleans not as much) & Bull. We watched the first episode of God Friended Me...it was better than I thought it would be. Instinct was OK, not sure when it will be back.
Don't care for most of the "reality" shows, but we do like the Amazing Race. Way less staged drama than the others. Hope it returns.

New season has kicked off this week, and not to get political, but the revamp of Murphy Brown was partisan, as expected, but well done and quite funny; if you were a fan of the original you'll probably like this as well.

Not a big fan of Candace Bergen, so I'll pass. The re-boot of McGuyver isn't as hokey as the original, but it's not as entertaining either. Hawaii 5-0 is OK.

Just came across the series White Collar.

We discovered that a couple years ago on one of those rerun channels, either Ion or MyTv. Some other recently-cancelled ones we like are Leverage, Bones and the CSI series. The first few seasons of Castle were good, but it kind of jumped the shark.

Enjoy our CBC shows. They cost us billions!

Even though I'm in the U.S., we get CBC/Montreal on our cable. My wife really likes Murdoch Mysteries. The older Frankie Drake episodes were OK, but so far this season has been kind of lame and a bit too feminist for my taste. We also liked Back In Time For Dinner, dunno if that was a one-shot series or if it'll be back.

One thing we noticed about Canadian tv is that there don't seem to be any political ads other than generic get-out-and-vote messages. Sure is nice compared to all the attack ads on this side of the border!

I cant stand the "reality shows" especially since all the reality is faked or staged. I still enjoy all the NCIS shows even after 15 or so years.

Yeah, same here. As I mentioned above, I do like the Amazing Race. I wish it ran more often instead of Survivor and Big Brother, but I guess those 2 attract a desirable audience and AR's ratings are middling.

I agree with you 100%. And those political attack adds start so long before elections that I am sick of politics long before voting time.

Then add to our miserable stations here in the U.S. is that we are inundated with commercials. Twenty minutes or less of actual programing for every thirty minutes of watching TV.

Bugs me about some XM stations as well. Like Patriot Radio. You are paying for it, yet there are way too many commercials! And the same ones, over and over and over again. I shut it off just on account of that.

Well, no relief from that on any Canadian tv we get (before the DTV conversion we used to get a couple stations from Sherbrooke off-air)...commercial breaks seem just as long and frequent as on U.S. tv. And as far as I can tell, everything on CBC is either a Canadian or British production.

Many of the shows one of the Sherbrooke stations we used to watch aired were current or recent U.S. shows (mostly CBS or Fox from what I could tell) and they actually added additional commercial breaks that weren't in the original show!

The “OFF” feature of tv screen may produce enjoyable periods!

I don't have favorites any more. Since NCIS went PC, and Boston Legal went PC and off, and Longmire went off, Blacklist went off. Haven't tracked down "Last Man Standing" to its new spot, if it has one...it used to be my last favorite. I will watch "Forensic Files" if it's one I haven't seen, and "Joe Kenda" and the one (can't think of the name now) where they investigate cold case files.

...Blacklist went off....
This was an OK tongue in cheek show but they kept changing the nights and times that I lost track and interest...Did they ever reveal what was in the suitcase?

Watch for Boston Legal reruns on Ovation...Denny Crane...

Last Man Standing is on the Fox affiliates at 8 pm on Fridays. The opening sequence of the first new show where they addressed the network change was fantastic, if you can, find it online if you missed it.
Awaiting the new series of Doctor Who, with the much discussed casting of Jody Foster as the first female Doctor. Will probably have to wait until Christmas time as that's when the Beeb often rolls out new series.
Speaking of, Call The Midwife is a fantastic show, period drama about life in the east end during the late 50's to early 60's.

My friend suggest Ozark (sp?) . I started watching it last night, albeit with poor concentration. Worth watching?

Yes, we are deeply into it now. It grows on you. If you liked Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul you will probably like this.

I really enjoyed Ozark. Is season 2 out yet?

+1 on NCIS and Longmire. Good UK crime drama if you get the chance - Luther.
