I've never heard of most of the shows you guys mentioned, but all we have is the most basic cable package...mostly off-air channels and a couple of others. No streaming, not worth the money IMHO.
For current shows I like the NCIS series (mostly LA & the original, New Orleans not as much) & Bull. We watched the first episode of God Friended Me...it was better than I thought it would be. Instinct was OK, not sure when it will be back.
Don't care for most of the "reality" shows, but we do like the Amazing Race. Way less staged drama than the others. Hope it returns.
New season has kicked off this week, and not to get political, but the revamp of Murphy Brown was partisan, as expected, but well done and quite funny; if you were a fan of the original you'll probably like this as well.
Not a big fan of Candace Bergen, so I'll pass. The re-boot of McGuyver isn't as hokey as the original, but it's not as entertaining either. Hawaii 5-0 is OK.
Just came across the series White Collar.
We discovered that a couple years ago on one of those rerun channels, either Ion or MyTv. Some other recently-cancelled ones we like are Leverage, Bones and the CSI series. The first few seasons of Castle were good, but it kind of jumped the shark.
Enjoy our CBC shows. They cost us billions!
Even though I'm in the U.S., we get CBC/Montreal on our cable. My wife really likes Murdoch Mysteries. The older Frankie Drake episodes were OK, but so far this season has been kind of lame and a bit too feminist for my taste. We also liked Back In Time For Dinner, dunno if that was a one-shot series or if it'll be back.
One thing we noticed about Canadian tv is that there don't seem to be any political ads other than generic get-out-and-vote messages. Sure is nice compared to all the attack ads on this side of the border!
I cant stand the "reality shows" especially since all the reality is faked or staged. I still enjoy all the NCIS shows even after 15 or so years.
Yeah, same here. As I mentioned above, I do like the Amazing Race. I wish it ran more often instead of Survivor and Big Brother, but I guess those 2 attract a desirable audience and AR's ratings are middling.
