I'm sure you guys all returned the stimulus check that "W" sent you.

Some of you blame the job lose in your communities on GM, but you drive foreign vehicles.:confused2:

Would we be better off with no GM at all?

I think we forget what GM has provided this country for years. Good jobs that someone could raise a family on. When we turn our backs on American companies like this we are really hurting ourselves.

Have you seen the amount of Chinese Products in the stores at all? These are products Americans produced at some point. Wake up people!

Stimulus check and a bail our are two totally different things. Buying a foreign car makes sence in the state I live. 10 years ago we had Chrysler and GM building here. Now its Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, ect. A lot of people buy what they build. The UAW, bad management, poor quality, and under performing vehicles have done in Chrysler and GM. Ford was on the same path but new leadership got them on the right path in the early 2000's.

Ford was lucky enough to mortgage themselves to their eye balls before the credit crunch. Tell me ford didn't sell any vehicles during "Cash for Clunckers". Saying ford didn't take any bailout money is a half truth. I know you like to bad mouth anything Chysler or Gm, but I've had plenty of fine GM products. I also own two fords as well.

There are lots of Industries that would suffer without Government money. Yours is one.

Would that be Toyota's made in Texas, Kia from Georgia, Honda made in Ohio, or GM made in Mexico and Canada? These are just a few examples. Just because it's under a foreign name doesn't mean it doesn't support our home economy. I stopped with GM due to the last 2 I had were crap. Not that my experience means all are bad, but the bailouts were the last straw. To compair stimulus check to bail out doesn't fly either. I pay taxes, even with the checks I still pay taxes, so it was my money. This bailout was a payoff to the UAW, plain and simple.

With the government picking winners and losers, everybody loses. What does GM learn from this? Nothing other than uncle sam (US taxpaers) will bail them out. What has GM and the UAW done to change the situation? Close dealerships that don't cost them anything to keep open?

What about the thousands of companies that have failed in the past present and future? We can't bail them all out. What makes GM or Citibank any different?

What is my industry? Flying private corporate jets or selling boats? I was hired by United in 1996 but wanted no part of the unions and that industry. I am much happier in the private sector where my performance and ability keep me moving up the ladder, not just because I have a higher seniority number than the next guy.

Corporations that operate their own jets do so without using Gov. paid for airports? What I'm saying is Gov. has a hand in everything. Good or bad. I'm not saying I always like it, but some time it's necessary.
