Would need 100+ years of snowstorms (or any other weather) to prove/disprove global warning. I honestly don't care either way, but I do find it comical when people will cite a single weather event, or a single season, or even several years, and suggest that's evidence for/against. That isn't the right timescale for climate! Unless someone has data that stretches over centuries, you can pretty much ignore it all together.

Weathermen can't accurately predict what it's going to do in the next 24 hours let alone Global Warming in 20-30 years.

The whole "Naming" thing is so they hype up the anxiety level. That and calling them "Nor'easter" or "Clipper". I'd like to be as wrong as they often are and still keep my job.

The National Weather Service, NOAA , are the weather people. All weather data for all forecasts throughout the country comes from NOAA.

NBC is a tv broadcasting company who provides entertainment, hires tv personalities, and sells commercials. They seem to be making up names for weather events to advance their agenda. They are not the weather people.

Scientists are the ones who determine long term climate patterns, not 'weathermen'.

I hear they're hiring!

Correct, I was referring to them collectively.

Correct again, and I don't remember saying they were the weather people, though they'd like to think they are.:confused3:

You forgot: Bozo - a clown from the 20th century. Born & bred in America, from the TV mindset, also largely made up of clowns, many of whom became weathermen on the channel of the same name. Hence interchangeable: Weatherman=clown, clown =weatherman.
Case solved, next!

In Connecticut, a local news station has been naming storms as far back as I can remember so I never really thought anything of it. Since TWC now names them something different than my local news station I need a conversion chart to see which storm is which. So what I never considered weird has recently become weird.

Looks like NOAA doesn't buy into the names either...
