Stopped in at my former Mahindra dealer this week to get a hydraulic cylinder shaft for my loader that I broke (my own stupidity). He gave me a rundown on why he lost his dealership. He got the dealership about 3+ years ago. The first year he exceeded mahindras expected sales of him, by 50%. The second year he sold what was expected. The third year he fell short. This past April, Mahindra told him he would have until next March to increase sales, then in August they pulled the plug?! He is very upset to say the least. He did the best he could with his location and all the competition in the area. Mahindra told him, he needed to be on a main highway. (He is about 3 miles off a main route) They didn't seem to care 3 years ago. Mahindra also told him he should advertise on TV! They told him that because sales were up in his county(Bucks Co in Pa), his sales should not have gone down. With a little research he found out Mahindra based their sales figures on all tractors sold above 20 hp. This would include all lawn tractors sold at the home improvement stores and any lawn and garden center! This dealer has been a tractor mechanic for 30+ years and repairs all makes. He has contact with most other dealers in the area and knows that the orange and green dealers are also in a slump, which is why he is upset. The market here in SE Pa,(the 5 county Philly area) is driven mostly by the housing industry. The greatest amount of small tractors are sold to landscapers, pool builders, new home owners, and such. With the slump in housing, everything else follows.Willman said:He is a super nice guy and easy to deal with, also very experienced.
Always had an ad in the paper every week.
Even though his location was off the beaten path he usually seemed to have a decent selection of new Mahindras on the lot.
He was very enthusiastic about the Mahindra brand.

Picked up my repaired loader cylinder at my former Mahindra/New Tym dealer. He has some new TYM tractors on site, with more on the way. Nice looking. I never realized my 2810hst was built by TYM. Just noticed this week that my floor mat has a TYM logo on it. My next purchase may be a TYM too.Willman said:I am glad he got the TYM dealership!
All the 4110's are built by TYM and probly some of the other Mahindra's.
My next purchase might be a TYM?
