Have an L285, which no one seems to know about. 30 hp rear pto only. I am convincing myself that I have to have a FEL, but know little about them. (thought i'd never need one)

I prefer the used market. Are the FELs designed to match particular tractors or sizes of tractors? How can I be sure my tractor can accept one? What about hydraulics? Is it a stand alone hyd. pump, or is the pump run via PTO?

My other problem is that I can't stop buying implements. Why use my back when I have a 3 pt hitch?

Yes, the FEL has to be sized to your exact tractor. Having said that, many have been cut, modified and welded to fit but only if you have high skills in those areas. You do also have to be mindful of the hydraulic situation. If it's connected to your current pump, is is big enough? Will you be able to use your 3 pt hitch at the SAME time as your FEL. These questions all depend on how it's hooked up, whether you add a pump etc. I offer this advice because I have been there. Believe me, it's more complex than it seems. If you aren't up to snuff on these issues, my advice is to get some expertise on your side on rely on a good dealer to locate and install one for you. Good luck!

Front loaders normally suit only certain models. We build about 5 versions for Kubota tractors up to 30 HP.

The basic structure is the same, but the size and attachment brackets vary a lot. Normally the hydraulics already on the tractor flow enough oil to enable front loaders to be operated. They work reasonably well, and fast enough for most users, depending on cylinder sizes etc.

We have always found it difficult to locate used loaders for Kubota tractors here in Australia. And when we found a used one, it would'nt quite fit without modifications, the frame was bent, the cylinders were leaking, the pin bushes were sloppy etc.

For this reason,a new loader is probably they way to go.You may get some more information on standard and 4 way loaders at www.dieseltraders.com.au

Our company is probably too far away to be able to supply economically even if the Oz dollar is only worth half a US dollar.
Hope this helps.

Hey BillK any idea of a good american equivalent to your company? I'm also looking for FEL.

It would be nice if American companies posted their price list on the web. Most of us barely have time to check the computer much less go haggle with a dealer.
