MX5400 FEL hydraulics...pressure increase?

I bought a new MX5400 a few years ago to replace an L4330, and have been fairly happy with the tractor. One thing I have not been impressed with is the lift capacity on the FEL, which has never felt as strong as the 4330. After watching a few vids, I am convinced the relief vale on the hydraulic control is set too low. I've found this Jailbreak kit which includes a gauge and shim kit. At the very least, the gauge will give me an idea of what PSI the hydraulics are working at, and whether its within the factory spec.

Anyone tried one of the kits?

Try a search on this site. An individual did install that kit with positive results. I believe his initial hydraulic pressure was slightly below spec.

That's one thing I haven't found quite yet, the exact spec for the hydraulic pressure in the system...can't really go forward until I have that bit of information, but given how the FEL operates, I have little doubt its low. Everything else about the tractor is great (with the exception of the seat safety switch and the location of the light switch), just the FEL feels weak.

I just ordered the kit, should at least be able to figure out where the PSI is now...and whether there is any room to bump it up.

Check to be sure 3pt hitch relief valve isn't being unseated by 3pt attempting to raise too high. Push 3pt control lever forward 1/2''-1''.
