FEL Bucket Hooks

Here are 3/8 grab hooks welded to each side of the tractor frame mounted FEL front frame. These are for pulling or for securing the tractor to a trailer when the FEL is not attached.

Don't pull your stuck tractor out using a big tractor attached to your FEL. A big tractor could bend the FEL real bad.

Three 3/8 hooks on top of a full width reinforcement.

Hooks are sloped so gravity keeps chain in the hook.

" too wanted the convienience of FEL hooks and read and studied etc. I got it somewhere that you can pull your FEL out of "kilter" by pulling/pushing on just one side. Mine is a little 302 so was paranoid. Is that correct you tractor vets? "

Yes, you could twist the loader bucket or frame. I think it would take quite a bit, however.

Using bucket hooks on a loader does require a modicum of common sense. When rigging a load to the bucket hooks, you'll want to spread the load as equally as you can.

I have three hooks welded on my bucket: one on each end, one in the middle. I use the center hook for lighter loads and a combination of both outer hooks for heavier loads. I never use just one of the outer hooks.

Cisunix-
Like JRP says, I think once you get to using those hooks, you may like grab hooks even more. You did a nice job with 'em! Also, the way you made them you could just make up another plate and weld 3/8 grab hooks then just change them out if you need to. Look at JRP's pic up close too, they do make correct hooks for this purpose, like he used on each end. I think a lot of guys may not know these hooks exist (based on many bucket hooks I have seen) so they use the S hook style and grind a big flat on them. If you get the right hook you won't have to. You're local tractor dealer should have them. Anyway, nice job!

Well, since we're all sharing pics of bucket hooks, this is what I did to my MF. Center mounted using bolts and a backling plate.

Thanks. I thought about that one for quite a while before I built it. I wanted to just do it once and have everything that I would ever need. Even though, I do have room for other things should I ever want an addition. I didn't think about it until I looked at the pictures this morning, but I didn't put up pictures of the console top. It slides open for servicing and has a spring-loaded latch. I'll take some pictures when the weather gets better.
