jjcc246,,, You are correct mine is same problem as yours. I appreciate the link and information

To others
I`ve found no leak down of any position even if parked for days. I`m aware that back of bucket is for backdragging and not to put a lot of pressure on front of blade when in dumped position. At this time it`s the only way i can backdrag. If try to use back of bucket it glides across the surface not moveing anything no matter what the rpm`s are set.It even flops around when hitting bumps jumping loosely upward and back down. I`ll be off work on 23rd and will check the float mode as someone spoke about possibly being activated. In past when float mode was used it still held position better than now.
Thanx to everyone for the input and help.I`m glad i discovered such a great place and people so helpfull,,,,,,,,,,,Rebel

Guys,
In the link that jjcc246 posted, pay close attention to what RickB had to say on the subject. Everything that he said is exactly correct and usually the main problem as it pertains to the bucket flopping around.

I rather doubt that the loader valve has a "float" position for the dump cylinders. What you are probably seeing is the regen function.

For a float spool, both of the work ports are connected so that they exhaust fluid back thru the valve, this gives a true float where there is no up or down pressure on the cylinders. Regen on the other hand, puts hydraulic pressure on both sides of the cylinder. The regen position is the detented position on the dump function.

For a complete discussion of regen and 3-way vs 4-way valves see the discussion below.

O.k. Went outside and done some work with my tractor and loader. Here is what I've done: Loaded a bucket full gravel and dumped it put the loader on the ground, leveled the bucket and the bucket stayed put. Loaded another bucket full, dumped that, leveled the bucked first, then the loader and noticed that the bucket curled up a little. So more pressure on the bucket down tilt and dragged it with the front wheels off the ground for 1000ft. No problems. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Did I miss something? Was there a solution to this?

I have been having this problem with my 12LA, but am now having a new problem. The loader arm won't stay put. I noticed it yesterday while mowing. There are a few places where I know I have to raise the bucket or it will drag, but yesterday it dragged in other places. I finally noticed that the loader was falling.

It falls an inch or two when I let go of the joystick, then it almost, but not completely, stops. After a while it falls all the way down. This just started over the last couple days.

As for the bucket curl not staying...with the loader arm up and the bucket curled all the way down, I can curl it a foot or more with my hands.

The other odd thing is that if I slowly raise the loader, it falls a inch or so first, then goes up. As a matter of fact, if I hold the joystick where the hydraulics sound like a water hose folded in two, the arm will fall all the way down even though the flow should be pusing it up.

Fluid is full and no leaks I can find. I leave it parked in a garage with a clean concrete floor so leaks would be easy to spot.
