I've never seen one above ground.

Tank is so deep because of a bathroom in basement, line runs under the foundation.
It is a steel tank, so we are happy it is that deep. Maybe less rust?

The measuremnts for the tank are down, 3 different reference points and 3 copies of the map. Now where to put them?

If things go bad the outhouse maybe the the soluation.

Could it be that deep so it doesn't freeze? Only guessin but I would imagin it gets just a tad bit chilly up there. Oh yeah and I second Wallace you would be amazed at the diggin you can do with a toothbar.

If the tank is that deep, the septic field has to be even deeper, below the level of the outlet at least. Yikes! hope you never have to repair the fields, be easier to build new ones.

Take some pictures of the tank location. Be sure to get some landmarks into the picture and then print it and post it near your septic tank alarm.

I have a diagram of where my septic tank is located. I took measurements from different spots on my house to the tank, I then put the diagram in a zip-lock bag and it is attached to the swear pipe right before it goes out through the basement wall. This way I always know where it is.

I have but it was before they buried it. :laughing::laughing:

After they buried the 3 (2 septic and 1 pump ) tanks on our place we boxed in the opening with pressure treated wood with removable covers that are at ground level. That way we always know where they are. As a matter of fact I mowed grass over two of them today.
