Can anyone tell me what the spec is from Kubota for acceptable leakdown of the FEL. I have a new B2410 with about 55 hrs. When not in use, I never let it sit on the seals and always rest it on the ground. I have the LA352 loader with a Husco valve. My bucket will visibly lower with little or no weight in it and the tractor running. My two questions are what amount of leakdown is acceptable (within spec) and assuming mine is outside spec, how do I know if its in one or both of the boom cylinders or in the control valve. Thanks to everyone for your help.

There should be no leakdown when the tractor is running. You have to isolate the bucket cylinders to see if the problem is with the O-rings/seals. Disconnect them and plug the ends then check the leakdown rate. If they check ok then its a worn spool in the valve.

This isn't right. Just bring it back to the dealer and let them figure it out. You shouldn't be able to see any leakdown.

Glad you can read Kevin /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif . I missed that it's still under warranty. Like he said have them check it out.

8561,
Most loaders have some leak down. It can be a problem with the cylinder packing or in the valve. Most times it is in the valve. The inexpensive valves like the ones that are used on most if not all compact tractors have all metal to metal contacts that may not have as close of tollerances as we sometime wish they did. If you have a valve body that the bore for the spool is on the high side of the specified tolerance and the spool that is used in it is on the low side of its tolerance, you will have more or faster leak down.
I don't know if there is any place on the web that shows the allowable leak down for Kubotas, but here is a page from JD. Leakdown page

Thanks for your help guys. I guess I was willing to tolerate a little leakdown but I thought the amount I was experiencing was a little excessive. Turns out it appears it is.
