FEL Mounted Brush Cutter Recommendations

/ FEL Mounted Brush Cutter Recommendations #61
An FEL brush cutter is on my wish list
but allow me to share my experience
with an FEL mounted Titan Tree Puller.

In my opinion at around $1400
it is a lot of bang for the buck,
very versatile and safer than a cutter.

We have a root grapple and use it a lot
but the tree puller pulls out larger trees
more efficiently and with less strain on the FEL.

The corner of the grapple that we use
is outside the lift arm
and puts a lot of torque on the FEL.
The puller is mounted inside the lift arm
and is easier on the FEL.

Pluck 20-foot tall saplings out of the earth.
It is very satisfying to pull up small trees
root ball, tap root and all.

Pull and push larger trees and stab the jaws
into the ground to break up roots.
Grab and beak out standing dead tree trunks.

Reach over the top of a fence
and pull up trees on the other side.

Prune trees by ripping branches and limbs off.
Not pretty but gets the job done.

Trying to pull down grapevine with a grapple
is like flossing your teeth, but frustrating.
The tree puller does a great job on grapevine.
Dragging 40 feet of grapevine out of trees
is very gratifying.

If the burn pile is convenient
take your "precious" directly to it.
Otherwise at the end of the day
we switch to the grapple and wad it up.

And of course it also pulls posts.

One last thing. The Titan Tree Puller
may be slow, but it is great fun.
