Kubota B7300
Hi, I have a kubota b7300 with an allied 95 FEL on it and I've noticed something that I'm not sure is a problem or just the way this loader works.

When I dump the bucket, it happens quickly, maybe too quickly... It seems to swing almost loosely to the bottom where gravity would pull the bucket... If I continue to hold the joystick in the dump position for 3-5 more seconds the cylinders eventually catch up and will finish pushing the bucket to the end of it's rotation. This happens with the bucket loaded or empty. Curl, lift and lower all seem to function fine. And the bucket has no problem holding a full load at any position that I stop it at while dumping

Is this ok, or a sign that something might be going wrong?

Thanks
DK

Sounds like the bucket valve does not have Regeneration in the dump direction. Are you running at close to 2000 RPM or more? The cavition will be worse at lower RPM.

Regen purpose is to keep pressure in the rod end so it can't dump faster than oil fills the base end. It sends pressure fluid to both ends of the cylinder, but the base end has more force with same pressure so it dumps the bucket while keeping the base end full of oil.

Wow that was FAST! Could this loader just not have regen? Or would this be something that isn't working right?

I'm running at the pto rpm ~2400 or so. This little tractor might just not have pressure or volume on the hydraulics?

Some loaders have what they call quick dump. Which acts like what you are describing. If you move the joystick all the way to the dump position the quick dump is activated. If you only move the joystick part way it dumps normaly. Do you have any manuals on the loader.

If it only acts like this at the end of the strock I'd say air in your system. That is how mine acted.

Hooked on hp- I have the manual, but it doesn't mention anything about this.... It's really not a very helpful manual...

J Coop- I thought that too.... How would I purge air if there is any?

Try loosening your hydraulic file cap and cycle your loader and even your 3 pth. The air will make the fluid look milky. It may take time for the air to leave maybe a few days. Do this every couple days should help. The air will also make the 3 pth jumpy. If this problem just started you are sucking air from some place.

I was thinking the same thing. If it does have the 'quick dump' feature, there should be a 'detent' just like the 'float' position has.

The Massey GC series has the quick dump feature, if the loader was installed at the factory. Mine had the loader installed afterwards, with a different type of valve body( i'm still unclear why Massey would give my dealer the correct assembly), thus I have no quick dump.

I would check that before anything as it's the easiest.

My LS P7010 will do that when I push the dump all the way forward when tractor is at low idle. It just kind of swings back and forth at BDC until the fluid catches up and pushes the bucket on to the dump limits.

Gary Fowler- I think you might have it....

I used it again a little bit on Sunday, and did some experimentation.
While the tractor was cold I couldn't recreate this at all. As it warmed up it started happening near idle. If I accelerated the motor a little it became less and less pronounced. Once the tractor and fluids got to operating temps it became more pronounced...

The tractor is new to me, and I still haven't changed the trans/hydraulic fluid, so it might be right at the end of its expected lifespan with the tractor at 281 hours. I plan on changing this out next weekend and will report back if things change with new fluid, filter and screen.

Thanks
