FEL seems weak- how to check

Yep, I have done a lot of back dragging with the bucket vertical, but with the loader in float. If the front wheels are off the ground the bucket ain't moving.

I have also slightly bent loader cylinders doing that. I had a tooth bar on which added more leverage. If you have the loader in float it probably won't hurt anything, but a regular tractor can lift the front wheels off the ground and backdrag.

I don't think we are veering too far. The thread is about hydraulics and FELS. That's what we are talking about.

Your invention deserves credit. Well done. Makes a lot of sense. I was cleaning out a pool bank when I bent my rods. That idea of yours would do a mean job of bank cleanup. Will keep it in mind next time we have another drought. Seem to be the norm now adays. This year we had 30ish inches of rain in the spring keeping the ground unusable till June when you usually plant the warm season crop end of March. Then 4 months of no rain. Now another monsoon. Got 13 inches in 3 days on top of 10 inches over the month before. Farmer's Almanac said it would be a wet fall. How they know a year ahead of time and be right more times than wrong beats me. All this following 4 years of serious drought. Good time to clean things out.
