Almost new tractor and I don't believe the remotes have even been used. Went to hook them up and one female won't accept the male fitting. One works just as it is supposed to but the other one you can't get the male into it far enough for the detent balls to engage. It is definitely that female fitting because both males will work in the other female. Is there a fix short of a new fitting?

Try soaking the balls and ring with a good penetrant like Kriol, PB Blaster, or Fluid Film.

With the ring pulled back (or pushed forwards depending on the style) can you move the balls?

Can you depress the ball or poppet in the male fitting? Possible wrap in a rag and then tap it on something metal to see if there is still a little trapped pressure in the hose. Some styles of quick disconnect it does not take much pressure to make them impossible to connect.

He wrote that both males work in the other female QD.

The tractor has been sitting outside in below freezing weather, so I am going to put the heat gun (hair dryer) on the fitting and try to warm it up, I'll check the detent balls but I think they moved. Thank all you guys.

Start the tractor up and warm up your hydraulic fluid as well.
Before you start messing with fittings, don't forget to relieve pressure by putting fel in float mode and also press in the little button on your shift lever.
