Thanks for the vote of confidence Jray. I have been working pretty long and hard on this fence, and hope to complete the first pasture and the arena within the next couple of weeks. Lots of time to build, but it should be around for a good long while.

Just a thought. I would try and make your arena at least 150'. If you ever decide to do much with regard to horses that you will certainly be glad for the 150'. Ideal would be 200' wide.

Thanks for the tip Doc, actually this arena is the smaller one for the kids to ride in. I have a bigger (350' X 200' )roping arena planned too. I actually have a friend who is a heck of a calf roper though who learned to rope (and still practices) in an arena about 80' X 150'. I tell you if you can catch them in that little arena, when you get out to a big arena, it seems like you have all day /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Oh heck yea I've roped in some tiny arenas! Iowa is terrible for that. Alot of the rodeos here are on the inside of the race tracks and are about the same size as what you were talking about for the whole rodeo!!
