fencing 100 acres

We have a timber equipment sales/repair place in town that has two brushcutters parked out front. One on a large Front End Loader and the other on a skid steer. I drool twice aday when I drive by and see 'em.

The 4-6 inch trees are firewood. And I have even bigger trees that might have to come down. So Mr. Stihl, Mr. DR and Mr. JD will be doing the work. Mr. JD is only going to push what little stuff I have no use for into piles for quail and rabbits.

And most importantly there is no budget.

I looked at trying to get a front mounted mower on the front of the tractor. It looked like it could be done but it would be too costly for what I need to do. Hiring the job out would be a better use of money for me but I dont' have the money for that either. The other problem I had was too small of a tractor. The brush cutters I looked at where for skid steers and needed some serious hydraulic GPM. I would have had to use a PTO hydraulic pump, tank lines, etc. Just not worth it for me.

I just fenced 60 acres. All metal posts and t-posts. Your corner braces should be at least 3 feet in the ground, preferably 4. The H brace should be wide, at least 2 times the height of the fence. For my corners I used 2 7/8 sched. 40 pipe ( didn't use galvanized because of the cost ), and painted afterwards. I also took crumpled up newspaper and stuffed the top of the pipe, and a little mound of concrete on top of that to form a water barrier. I put a tpost every 10 feet, and an hbrace every 200 ft. All posts welded. Have I expressed how wonderful it is fencing in the Texas heat in the middle of summer?
