Oil? Oil is bad for the environment!

As long as you/he check and have good 710, good to go!

Kudos for having good dealer..... Wish all dealers were like this....
Well, about that. My nearby dealer (5 miles away) where I bought Fergie 2 years ago has not been treating me well for quite a while. So, I started buying parts at another one 29 miles away, and I chose to have them do the engine job. They are better but still somewhat vague and unresponsive. I didn't get a response to an email that I sent on Tuesday, so I feared that the message I got Monday was one of these:

..., so, after still not hearing from them today, I decided to make the drive again, and here is the good news: she is in the shop, and there is a new engine in her:

..., but here is the bad news: the errant connecting rod hit the left side of the block so hard that it bent the left rear engine bracket, and they are waiting for a new one to come in. Sorry for the less than stellar photos of the bent bracket:

I'm glad things are going well. You've definitely found a good dealer and lucky you that it's in the shop so quick. I wonder what the cost of that engine is.

Less than 2 years since I bought it new, and 569 hours. Standard warranty on entire powertrain is 5-years/1000-hours. I opted for the extended warranty which is 10-years/2000-hours.

I thought standard was 2 years "bumper to bumper" (everything except battery!) or wear and tear like tires ... Then 5 years or 2000 hours on "drivetrain" whichever comes first ... ?

Perhaps ...

While up at the dealer today, I checked on the warranty terms. @Shawn T. W. is correct that the original drivetrain warranty is 5-years/2000-hours. The extended warranty I supposedly purchased would only increase that to 10-years but still 2000-hours. Still unclear if in fact I have that extended warranty.

Just to add confusion ... There is also a warranty that applies to "emissions" I don't remember if it is 3 years or 3000 hours ... About all I can imagine that could/would apply on our little engines is "possibly" the fuel injection pump and injectors, as they are part of what makes it "tier 4 compliant"!
