How 'bout the guy I met years ago who put an injected Corvette 327 into an Austin-Healey 3000? He had to reach around the front tires to get at the plugs....

HAD a idiot who owned a service station across from where I worked years ago put a 283 chevy into a Austin Healey Sprite.... Scary beast....

Since we are telling war stories, a guy I went to school with, had an uncle who shoehorned in a 460 into a Pinto!

He let him drive a couple of times, crazy car!

How did he do that, remove all the inner fender?
Bet that had totally unstable handling.
Must have been a hoot to drive.

It would have been about 1983 I saw a VW bug with a blown big block Chevy in the front. It seems like the seats were more where the backseat would normally be.

IIRC yes it did not have inner fenders, and he beefed up the front axle somehow to handle the extra weight, probably twice what the pinto came with!

Another "nostalgia" sleeper-car post...(apologies for the hijack!)

And then there was a guy who ran a local Exxon station --again, back in the 70's-- that had successfully put a Cadillac Eldorado front-wheel-drive with a 460(?)... BACKWARDS, in the rear of a VW Kombi van! Rear tires on that thing must have been 15" wide. Not sure how he handled the transmission-in-reverse aspect, but he did it somehow.
