cool :)
know what you are gonna be doing in about 49 hours.
Well ~49 hours (618.5; failure occurred at 569.0) occurred yesterday, and I dutifully changed the engine oil and filter, then worked her again for a while.

(really hoping this thread can stay on track this time)

least you getting a new fan/alternator belt right now while its off.
right???
Oops Dave, I see I never replied to your very excellent suggestion.

When Fergie went to the dealership, I gave them a Word document with a list of stuff to do, and it included changing the fan belt. When it was ready for return, I asked about this and was told:
1) it wasn't on the work order
2) it wasn't done
3) they didn't have a fan belt in stock

Yeesh.

Oh well, they did at least put a block heater in the new engine as I had also requested. Used that yesterday as I wanted to change the oil first thing and it was around freezing. Wow, that sucker sure warmed the engine up!

Keep working it ... You're probably gonna catch up to my hour meter!

Are you running any additive in the fuel now, or different fuel supply? I remember you had some injector problems before, now you got new injectors and fuel pump ...

Of course now I have three grass cutters, but use the Kubota for most of it now, and Little Baby Fergie gets to sit and rest up for other things . . .

Thanks. And BTW, I don't use Fergie at all for mowing. I have a small John Deere rider mower for that. On the other hand, I'm not a "land baron" like you and only have 1-3/4 acres (and only a portion of that is lawn). : )

Yes, I had some "injector problems" (carbon) but I now think that the rings in cylinder #3 were going for some time before the catastrophic failure and that caused that cylinder to run poorly / burn oil / whatever. And yes, I'm using some injector additive now.

I have a 2022 Massey Ferguson GC 1723EB nicknamed "Fergie" after Sarah Ferguson, Dutchess of York. I also call her "my red-headed mistress".

Today is Fergie's first birthday, and she has 421 easy rough hours on her. She has had all manner of indignities thrust upon her but is holding up well.
It is Fergie's second birthday, and she now has 623 hours on her. If you have been following her sad tale (i.e., this thread!) then you know that life has not been easy for her. Would be a lot more hours but I had rotator cuff surgery in late March and then the poor gal was incapacitated for 5-weeks.

(Speaking of poor gals, Sarah Ferguson is no longer Dutchess of York, and although she has long been divorced from Andrew, she had been living at his rent-free royal home that he (they) are getting booted from.)

The rotator cuff surgery was in late March, and I went through the miserable 6-weeks with what I call "a half a strait jacket" plus occupational therapy so all nicely recovered by July. My wife was an occupational therapist for 40 years and says I am the worst kind of non-compliant patient though. : (

The additive is some sort of Lucas stuff; sorry, don't care to run out to the shed in the rain to look. : )
