So would I but on the F800X with 31 vanguard and the 60 in deck I have I have a price quote of $10,900. which is a long way from 16kAs much as I love my Ferris 700Z, I would be looking at a diesel Kubota F series if I were going to spend $16K or more for a mower.
The FX800 is nice, just remember it's almost 3' longer (34") than the IS3100. I have the IS3100 with the Kawasaki 37 hp and added a suspension seat because I mow lots of rough ground. It turned a teeth jarring event on the lawn tractor to almost fun. I spend less than half the time and I mow more. I wanted one good mower before I die........![]()
If you're looking at front-mounted mowers, be sure to look at Grasshopper too. They make both gas and Kubota diesel powered front mounts. They are a very high quality mower. A lot of commercial guys run them.
I would LOVE to have a front-mount. It sure would make changing blades and cleaning the mower deck easier. But they are really expensive.
the extra length is not a problem. I like the fact that the deck raises up so you can get to the blades easier
If the deck raising to get to the blades easier is a game changer for you that narrows down the field quite a bit.
not a game changer as of now the 3 leading choices are the scag cheetah, ferris is3100 and the Kubota zd326 (I own a Kubota tractor and Kubota offers 0% for 60 )
It would be really hard to go wrong with any of those three. If you get a mid-mount like one of those (instead of a front-mount with the fold up deck), you can get a MoJack Pro to lift it for deck cleaning and blade changing. They are about $450 at Amazon, but I hear good things about them.
