Fertilizing corn

How do I fertilize corn when it's a few inches tall? I don't have a side "dresser". Is it possible to spay urea with my boomless sprayer? Can I dump fertilizer in my Flexi planter #71 and run it between the rows, letting the plate dole out little doses of fertilizer?

I have a little over a half acre of sweet corn. Thanks.

That's a lot of carrying of fertilizer! You spoil all the fun. How much and how? Can I broadcast it?

I side dress by hand with 12-12-12 for the first application while the corn is young. Then I'm going to try something new for me. I'll dissolve Urea in water and hit it with the sprayer once it's a bit more mature. I'll also pick a day where it's going to rain first. Friend of mine did this last season with real good results. Yeah the deer just loved it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Visit the local farmers store and #1 find out how to get a soil test, then #2 find out what you can get from them to spray on.
