I was in Lowe’s a few weeks and it seemed half the lumber did not have prices. Some don't have chains. (snip)
Sometimes when I can't find a price on lumber I find the pipe with the tag lying on the floor.

All the big box stores have apps you can run on your phone. I use the app to find the location of an item and it’s price.

All the restaurants in my little town are pretty much a disaster due to a worker shortage. Mostly I only eat out as a convenience, or to be exact, sometimes I lack discipline!

There isn’t much I can’t make better at home.
The internet capacity of my cheap flip phone isn't worth having. I guess I'll have to start carrying the aggravating smart phone my wife handed down to me.

I think you should, and this will make you dislike me but...

Let her show you how to use it so you don’t get frustrated and 86 it!

I may do a thread soon on smartphones. Mine has me extremely organized.

Better yet get a nice new one. You can get a good Motorola smart phone at Amazon for less than $150. Just make sure it is compatible with your carrier of choice. I got one that will do either GSM or CDMA and is unlocked so I can switch carriers if I ever wanted to. I paid $135 for it a few months ago.

I fought the smart phone thing for a long time. I now carry a Samsung S20. I use several apps. Hard to say favorite feature. Probably use the camera the most. Last weekend wife had me pick up some mulch at the Farm Store. I found what I wanted outside, took a picture of the store tag, showed the clerk the pic at checkout and told her how many I wanted.

Another feature I use frequently is Samsung Notes. I took pics of all my equipment S/N tags and added frequent parts numbers such as oil filters, etc. Saves a lot of time at the counter.

I'm going to town pretty soon. Already have my "shopping list" saved in Notes. No more being back home and remembering what I earlier forgot to get......

It's also nice to order on-line on your phone, drive up to the store, they bring it out to your car, and off you go.

Problem there is that the systems aren't always accurate. I've been in the store looking at things like we're talking about. Gizmo sez they ain't got none. But I can look at the shelf and grab the item in my mucky mauler. Call a clerk over, show them my screen, show them the item on the shelf. They look, compare stock and SKU numbers. They check their instore device connected to the in store system. Sez they ain't got none even though that have one in their hand and there are six more on the shelf.

They groan, shrug ... 'oh another one of those' ....

I did that with wasp spray one day. Showed the customer service rep a stack of cases of it ... 10 feet in front of where she was standing at the customer service desk compter that said they ain't got none.

Also, several things are now buy in store only, no web orders ... things like bags of concrete. No one can explain that one to me.

I also have the S20 and really like it. It replaced the S5 that worked great for about 6 years.

I’m going to do the thread soon. Even if only 1 person takes the plunge it will be worth it because these are incredibly powerful tools that can really benefit us.

Occasionay I have a question at Lowes and haven't been able to find a call button there in months. Items at Walmart are sometimes in the wrong place and I'd like to know their correct price before waiting in line at the register. Now the scanner that I used to use for that purpose is gone. What's a dumb old country boy to do?
I SUFFER from the SAME problem!

Tried getting her to show me how to work it. She forgot how to work it herself about a month after getting the new one. I look forward to your thread.
