aah the ol thermostat wars. ain't that on right after robot wars? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
we do some disagreeing over the stat but my wife at least understands the concept of only moving it a bump and not full throtle. ( it ain't her dirt bike... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )
in winter we live with 68 (propane, like heating oil, gets pricy then) and in summer 74 day and 72 at night. she prefers 80 but has learned to dress warmer in the house...
As for cooler being healther, the wife was told by the kids doc, that it is. Because the germs are less mobile in the cooler temp and even suggested we keep the temp between 68 and 72 for the best results. My wife also read this in one of her rags and is why I asked her to ask the doc if she did 't believe it... Doc said "Think about it, food takes longer to spoil in the frig right? Due to the cooler temps." Granted the there is quite a bit of diff. Between the house and the frig (for most of us /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )... so cooler temps should have some effect on cold and flue bugs. Either way it helped me get the wife to stop fiddilin so much with the stat....
Now, once i get the den built, she can have the upstairs and I'll be happy in my 72 summer 65 winter cave (with no air, yet).. and loving it ..... It was 93+ index here yesterday and even though I don't have all the insulation in yet, it still only hit 72. I can't wait.... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
