Donaldson and Baldwin are both highly respected filter manufacturers.
I question if Kubota actually makes their own filters, even though they have the Kubota label.
I am certain that filter manufacturers make the filters for Kubota and all the other tractor makes, and apply the brand's label. I also know that the companies name their own specifications. Just because you find out that filter company X produces filters for your tractor of choice doesn't mean that filter X down at the auto parts store or online is the same.
Case in point: I am a long time (over 30 years) Harley fanatic. My '02 Ultra, being a Twin-Cam engine, uses jets to cool the bottom of the piston crown. This small orifice dictates that oil be filtered to 5 micron particle size. It is false economy to gamble with possible sub-standard product to save a dollar or two.
Filters are cheap, engines are expensive.
