Filters...do you or don\'t you...??

Oil and hydraulic filter prices have jumped for my B2910, and I am considering changing to Wix filters.

My question is, do you use Kubota filters or something else?

I know this isn't scientific or anything, but I don't want to be the first...which I am sure I'm not... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just need a little confidence boost I guess.... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Henro-Using nothing but Kubota filters thus far. Might use an aftermarket oil filter someday, but will always use Kubota's HST and hydraulic filter.

I don't have a Kubota, but as soon as Fleetguard puts one out for my new tractor I will have one of theirs.

I use nothing but Kubota filters. It gives me an excuse to drop by the dealership I bought from and shoot the breeze with my salesman. I am still on warranty too, so I don't want any questions asked if I have a problem. The price of the filter is pretty small in the big picture.

I have used nothing but 'Bota filters and probably won't switch to anything else as long as the machine is under warranty.
After that who knows....

I've used Kubota filters so far. But there are some differing thoughts - check out the lubication forum. Wix is supposed to be pretty good,,,

Re: Filters...do you or don\'t you...??

Henro,

I use Kubota filters most of the time. But I use other brands when the Kub. dealer is out of stock.

For my B2400, the cost hasn't changed much; about $4.50 each for the engine oil and hydraulic filters. But I am looking for a different air filter supplier. At $27+ a pop, along with the dust I deal with, the air filter is just too expensive for what it is: paper. I was thinking of looking into a K&N replacement...

DaveNH,

Does Wix have the oil and hydraulic filters for the BX?
How about the fuel filters?
Do you have the part numbers?
How does the price of Wix filters compare to Kubota?

Re: Filters...do you or don\'t you...??

Henro,

I use Wix filters on everything I've got, including my under warranty Kubota. Every independent test I've read about rates them up there with the best. As far as I know all of the tractor manufacturers buy them from somebody else. I figure I might as well cut one out of the food chain and also get something I KNOW is pretty good quality.

http://www.filter1.com/ is a great source for all of your filter needs. They used to give free shipping on 6 or more filters. It's been a pretty good while since I stocked up. They can cross reference filter #'s or look them up for your make and model. Nice folks besides.
