Well, we all have junk piles. . . don't we? I looked at gotrocks and I think I have a junk pile bigger than his. However, Dave1949's yard with his patio set hardly visible in the growth made me think that would be great challenge for the B&D trimmer. Dave got my vote because he actually showed a picture of his yard.

Is Dave1949's actually a house?! Looks like maybe a commercial bldg of some kind :confused2:

Hello Jim, Long time since we communicated with each other. If you find my entry there are three shots of PART of my backyard. Now regarding the size of our respective junk piles, you remember "Sandford & Son".... well he only had one son.... I have three and the amount of junk is proportional. Let's see you top that.:laughing:

That's our actual house, but you wouldn't be the first one to think it isn't. The house is a passive solar type. The glass is the same as used in storefronts - 46" x 76", double pane, clear. ~ $125 each, 5 years ago, but you have to build your own jams and casings. The glass comes with an aluminum spacer between the panes and a butyl rubber seal around the outside edges.

Jim - Thanks. I submitted my yard as a joke more or less since I don't intend to mow it anyways. It's too much fun watching the song birds sit on the fence and swoop down for a meal. Grasshoppers are on the menu lately. Little wren-sized birds will jump on a timothy stalk near the seed head, ride it down to the ground and commence eating. Gold finches sit in a fence hole and reach out and grab a timothy head. It usually gets bush hogged sometime in the Fall after the birds are done with it just to keep the tree seedlings down.

Looks like gotrocks is running away with the trimmer. I think the winner should have to post 'after the trimmer' photos. :laughing:
