So, finally did it! I have been on here since.. let's see...April of 2014. I have lurked, tried to learn.... dreamed of.. and now, I finally got one.

No, it is not huge... I have 2 acres here and a 330 acre ranch down south that I could use it at, but since it is a lot of rock....roads and planting a small amount of stuff is about all it would be used on..BUT.. I do not need to ask for help any longer from friends that own a tractor.

I toyed with the idea of getting a cab....I REALLY wanted a cab with A/C.. but to afford that, I would have not been able to get a trailer right away OR the implements I wanted.

So, instead, I got a smaller tractor.. a new 20ft trailer, an auger, a box blade.. and because I dropped all the other stuff, I was able to afford a zero turn mower, which will REALLY get used a lot here.

Oh, also got a roof/visor/shade ;)

So, I got a Branson 2400H. I have not even taken it off the trailer yet, lol...I am teleworking so when I start messing with it, I want to stay out there, so waiting till after 4pm.

BUT.. here she is!

Thank you all for listening and advising all this time.

I know... I really wanted that 3725 with the A/C... but this as a smarter choice I think. Maybe one day ;)

Well done sir. With that equipment you will be really productive. Learn the equipment, what it can and cannot do. You should have years of good service.......... and a lot of fun as you learn. W Jones

Good for you!

Like you I was here for a long time before buying a tractor. I decided to get a used one (1988) and it is due to be delivered this week. It is currently at the dealers and it looks like repairs will come in at about $2300. Paid $3500 for it with a FEL, mmm, brush hog, tiller, rake, and blade.

I really wanted a newer Deere, Kubota or Mahindra (best nearby dealers) but funding was not there. Luckily dealer support is close by but I worry about parts availablity for the old baby. The front hub had to come from CA

Anyway, I know how you feel. Cannot wait to get some seat time.

Good luck with yours!

OP, congratulations!

I second the comment about feeling self-sufficient. That equipment will pay for itself the first time you use it, IMO!

lol.. Almost learned a very expensive lesson....

I was backing it off the trailer... it was sluggish and I was like, "this thing has to have a parking break... llleeeettt meee see....Oh, here it is..(kachunck!)"..

That thing rolled faster than expected. I had just enough time to slam it back on, before it backed right into the truck parked behind me next to the garage.. lol

All is well though....Drove it around, getting the feel for it. It is a little more complicated, imo, than the standard shift Mahindra I am used to. I better learn real fast how to "put on the brakes".. heh

I learned I need to have a wide birth when unloading things, I am prone to things sneaking up on me when I am trying to unload stuff, have no clue how they run up behind me like that ?

Nice looking setup. Is that ag/wells brand canopy?

Congrats! You will love the tractor. Don't underestimate how much you will enjoy the zero turn as well. I have a Hustler very similar to yours. Once you mow with a zero turn, you'll never want any other kind of mower.
