Finally found a good gas can

Is the green button spring loaded? Meaning to you have to hold it down to pour? If you do, it's a no go for me.

I notice it does not have the handle in the back, just the top. I do like the handles molded in on both the top and back.....I just can't find anything with a common sense spout.

I hate the no spill cans too. As far as I am concerned it is another worthless government regulation to protect the less fortunate (brain dead) among us from their own stupidity. BP spills a zillion gallons into the GULF and we get these Sh@tty cans.

Agreed...If one can't fill a gas tank with an old school gas can, that person has no business owning something that consumes fuel.

One nice feature on the ventless cans, they swell up like watermellons in the heat (I keep mine in the garage). When you release the spout, it sprays vapor and gas everywhere...Thanks Government, you fixed another problem that didn't exist.:mur:

May have to drive to Canada for a funtional gas can..Or shop flea markets...This really is insane.

I have several of these cans, bought them locally as well as ordered a couple from Baileysonline.com. They are the best can for no spill and ease of use that I've run across in several years.
Need to be careful to push the green button before tipping up to vent any pressure build-up.
I fetch gas and diesel fuel in my SUV, and like the no-spill feature. They come in several sizes, and include yellow for diesel.

Good Rant indeed. I for one like the no-spill style of can because it makes filling my chainsaw much easier. And lifting the 5 gal can over the tractor hood was a recipe for a mess without some sort of spill-control. Wuss for liking it? GAC.

I gets that way lately.:laughing:Must be lack oooooooooooof...........COFFEE! Yea, that's it. I really hated it when all these cans got redesigned. I have thrown away can after can because the spouts break and there seems to be no standard on the opening size or thread. At least I have yet to find good replacements that fit. You'd be surprised at how many people throw away good old cans. I look out for those.

I'm standing half on the hood of my tractor with one foot wedged in the loader mount pouring diesel into the tank and the spigot breaks off and falls in the tank. It's bad enough I'm doing a balancing act but now I'm dumping diesel all over me, the tractor and the garage floor.
That's the best place John Deere could figure to put the tank outlet? And they have this "caution" note in the manual telling people not to spill fuel on the paint! What??!!!

i've been meaning to get one of those pushbutton style ones for my chainsaw/trimmer fuel. a friend has that exact type and says it's great. i've had a bunch of the flexible straw type spouts on the wedco cans, and they have all cracked now and leak like crazy without a funnel. i've replaced most of those spouts with the push down to release spout, and for most things they have been working well. the exception is small tanks. there's no fine adjustment with them and you always end up over filling and spilling. one of those pushbutton spouts is the best bet for small fill ups.

i do have one of the yellow diesel cans with the push down to release nozzles. i have to say, for my tractor it is the perfect thing. you can turn the can totally upside down and it doesn't leak. drop the spout down the hole and it fills. lift the can up and it stops flowing. it also vents through the spout, so once the fuel level reaches the spout it stops, so no overflowing. since the can is totally upside down when filling the tractor, it empties the can out completely. i think i got the can at home depot a few years ago, and it's a very solid can. nozzle seems to be heavy and showing no signs of breaking.
