Knowing what I did to mine was a very simple solution,I would be interested to know what he (dealer) has in mind as a fix. No need to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Care to share?

My 855 didn't collect grass near as bad as this one. I think the fan must pull more air on this one, plus this is the driest year we've had since the mid 1980's. I'd clean the inside screens on the 855 a couple time a year, this one seems to catch most on the outside.

Well, here I am at 35 hours on the tractor,

I think that's your problem right there! Don't you know things need to be used? I have put on more than that in a good week.

I finished mowing yesterday and cleaned it all up. I moved the gauge wheels up an inch, that really helped when mowing uneven places. I didn't have to worry about getting hung up again. It'll probably sit a month now since it won't rain here. There's small chances next week, I hope we get it or I just as well use it to mow down my corn fields.

You mowed another acre without cleaning that front grill? Apparently you have never overheated one. It happens quick and is **** on the machine.

Keep the front grill breathing heavy!

John Deere sells a "Blow Out Kit" for their mowers. It is two thin metal strips that attaches to the bottom front of the mowing deck. You may want to discuss purchasing this option with your dealer's parts department. Installation of the "Blow Out Kit" will not completely stop the grille clogging but will greatly reduce the amount of debris being sucked up by the fan.

I think the temperature gauge mod is in order here.

No, I brushed the grille off before I mowed, I waited till I was done before I washed the rest of it.

I wonder if they have pics of that on the parts site. Maybe I can make them. I don't think it would be as bad if we weren't in a drought.
