Hi Tom, My backhoe came in way back on dec. 8th, my tractor came in on dec. 9th and was delivered on dec. 12th without the backhoe. The power beyond kit was on backorder until just 3 weeks ago. The dealer came and got the tractor on thursday jan. 27th. and then put on all of the accessories, and the backhoe. I then had to wait longer because on hard right turns the tire hit the steering cylinder because the center of the rim was welded too far out on the outer rim causeing the tire to be in too far and thus hit the cylinder. The tractor finally was delivered on feb. 10th. Seemed like a long wait, but it should be worth it. The bucket is 24" and I plan on getting a 13" bucket for doing trenching etc. Right now I'm not ready to take the tractor apart to make the adjustments to the hydrolic pressure. I plan on talking to the dealership on monday to find out exactly where the darn thing is, and the easiest way to get to it. I'll keep everyone posted on any info that I get. Thanks for the post! Have a good day!

Tom, it will not do any good to raise the relief valve pressure on the 448 hoe to 2800 psi if the tractor pump blows off head at a pressure below that figure. Most tractors pumps pop off some where between 2000 and 2500 psi. You can't get more pressure at the hoe then you get from the source (tractor).
Your tractor manual will give tractor pump pressure setting.

Lot's of luck with your new tractor,

Thanks George. Yeah,I looked up the specified max pressure for both the tractor and the BH, and as you point out, the tractor is spec'ed at 2500; the 448's factory setting is 2250. So not much to play with there.

I don't have my tractor yet, but next week when I take delivery I plan to ask the dealer to verify that the relief valves have been set to those values, and are not opening at something less, just in case. I think I have seen posts about relief valves with incorrect settings straight from the factory...

Tom.

Hi there mr. shawk, thanks I sure do hope that the hoe pays it's own way. I've got lots of work for it, if and when I'm done here at home, I probably will get some contractors insurance and do a few jobs on the side. Being as I'm newly retired and really not used to it, this may turn into a part time job. A job that I don't have to punch in and out when I'm told to. Been there and done that for 30yrs. Have a really peaceful weekend. Thanks for the post.

Hi there jeepinator, don't be jealous, ya it's a bunch of money but you only get to live once and I plan on having fun before I die. Heck I've got quads, dirt bikes, jet ski's, a street bike, etc. I figure that I might as well appear that I'm finally acting my age. I'll at least fool the people that don't realize how much fun and enjoyment one can get from having a cut w/attachments. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. I plan on selling off most of my other toys in the spring, that way I can get more attachments for the tractor. gotta love it!! I've been telling everyone that if I had bought my tractor two yrs earlier I wouldn't have so many other toys. Well enjoy your weekend, be well! And thank you for the post!
