Finally Got My Kubota RTV900

Yeah, I think it is a artist rendering (more or less) and I do like the black doors, but I know Curtis has made them in orange. So, you could probably special order orange doors if you wanted. Also, I'm pretty sure you can not buy the cab direct from Curtis...only through your local dealer.

That RTV900 Rec. model on eBay is at a real good price now ($8,100), especially since it includes the Curtis windshield and Kubota canopy accessories...I would love to have it. The RTV900R in my avatar is the first production RTV900R! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The canopy (roof) is an accessory (not installed at the factory).

BTW, That was a good looking RTV! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I guess I assumed that the roof was standard on the Worksite and the Turf because both models are shown that way in the brochure and the web site. Usually theres a little asterisk saying "Shown with optional equipment". Looking at the specs closer I don't see the canopy listed as standard equipment.

It's a good thing you pointed that out as I was going to ask the dealer to give me the black plastic canopy that came with the RTV900 when they deliver mine with the steel cab.

I noticed that you know a lot about the RTV. I just got one and have seemed to have found a small problem. First time I lowered the tailgate and sat on it with a buddy, the straps broke and dropped us on our butts! Upon clost observation, the actual cable where it goes into the eyelet where it hooks to the bed is only about the size of a pencil lead. No wonder it broke with just two of us sitting on it! Any word of Kubota recalling the very weak tailgate cables? For such a well built vehicle I was a bit disappointed in this weakness.

Doh! I'm glad you're OK. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Well, I know of no plans to 'recall' the tailgate cables. I'll go check some new RTVs (they are thicker than pencil lead), but I'm sure the tailgate should hold up to someone sitting on them...now 2 guys (approx. 400 lbs.) may be a different story.
