My wife has been on a committee that built a new multi-million dollar County Extension Office. They had moved in the new building in late November. After the tornado they offered the building to the Sheriff and Mayfield City Police to use as both their offices had been destroyed. There are police from several cities and counties using the building as a headquarters now. Last time we passed by there must have been between twenty and thirty law enforcement vehicles sitting in front.
We need them in the county.
Below are a couple examples posted on the Sheriff's Facebook page. The second one is the only locals arrested in the past week. All the other dozen or so were from out of state. I am amazed at how much the first couple got in that old Camaro.

Re: Theft Suspects From Alabama Arrested
At approximately 2PM this afternoon, a 1996 Camaro was observed by sheriffs deputies on Cardinal Road loaded with items, suspected as possibly stolen. The vehicle in question was bearing Alabama registration plates.
Campbell County and Graves County Sheriff’s deputies stopped the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the items loaded in the vehicle has just been stolen from a resident on Pritchett Road that has been destroyed by the December 10th tornado.
The vehicle was occupied by a male and female, whom ultimately admitted to taking the items. The owner of the home was contacted and confirmed that the items in question had in fact been stolen from their property.
The female was found to have had a Methamphetamine smoking pipe hidden in her bra, and attempted to conceal it.
Neither suspect had any connection to the Mayfield or Graves County area.
The were both transported to out of county jails due the the Graves County jail being damaged by the tornado.
