After a long winter it sure is nice to get some good quality bonding time in with the tractor. As soon as we got home from church Sunday a.m., my wife's sister calls up and asks if I can bring my tractor over. She's had an addition put on her house and need to move a "small" pile of dirt, "it would only take me 10 min. with my tractor". Well after 1-1/2 hrs of getting the trailer to work, I finally got the tractor loaded up and headed over. Her small pile of dirt amounted to about 20 yds! Basically they wanted my to use it up filling in a few potholes around the yard. To make a long story short, we got lucky. Word got out that we were trying to get rid of it and neighbors were showing up with pickups and trailers to load up. Her 80 year yound next door neighbor wanted his road ditch filled in a bit. I took 2 buckets full about a block away to another neighbor's house. We used up about 1/2 of it, but it took a bit longer than 10 minutes.

I would say you love ever min of it. Same thing happen to me but it was not dirt moving. Bush and old burn piles done it all for free and enjoy all of it. Hope you have as much fun as I did. Sam /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A couple years ago I was filling a pond before re-grading about 4 acres. I had sent letters to "all" the local excavators and landscapers to dump their "extra" dirt in my pond for free. One guy came by with several loads of topsoil (I pushed those to the side and saved).

One day he was working at a subdivision just down the road. He asked me to drive the tractor down and help him load a pile of soaking wet topsoil--his guys were getting tired of lifting it. I drove down there, loaded it and was back in about 20-30 minutes.

Now the good part. Not only did I get another load of free topsoil, but he gave me $15 to boot!!! Heck my wife only lets me have about $20 per month!...I felt rich and I got more seat time. Does it get better than this?!?! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This weekend we head to camp to open it for summer. "Camp" is where my tractor is stored. All winter I wait for this day.
I'm as excited as a kid at Christmas.

)</font> I'm so happy to be living in Florida where I can use my tractor all year long. I can imagine that you DO feel that way just as I do every day I get up and think about what to do next with the Kioti. I hope you have a great season on your beautiful blue baby. John

$15....HOLY COW. It definitely can't get better than that! I did do it all for free, I was just glad to get some seat time. It was fun to get to do some good dirt work since mine's about done. I guess I'll have to dream up another project.

How do you survive with tractoring all winter!?! I sit out in front of the window like a little kid everytime it snows, we just never seem to get enough!

It's hard to survive, working on the tractor all winter, being out in the usual 40, 50, 60 or 70 degree weather, but SOMEONE has to do it! John
