Looking great Robert, you've making quick time on that barn! I got a whopping three courses of shingles down last night before rain came... again. Hopefully I can make some headway tonight. Keep those pics coming /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It is raining here right now which might mess us up for plywooding the rest of the roof and loft today. Our shingles won't be in until Monday maybe Friday if we are lucky but most likely Monday. We figure if the weather is cool enough we can shingle the roof in a day once our shingles show up (Elk, Prestique I High Definition, Pewter, 50 year)

Robert,

I think I better get a John Deere tractor...something to match the color I keep turning when I see the fast progress you are making... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you only knew how much screwing around we did /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif We could have had the roof shingled already and been ready to tile and back fill the barn but then how much fun would we have had /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's a BIG building, so $10k isn't bad.

I meant at least $10K so far we are looking at roughly $14- $15k give or take a couple grand.

Anyway, today we put the decking on the loft and the rest of the roof. Over 90 sheets of plywood. Also, felted the roof and installed the drip edge. Today was another fun day as we had to work on one of our deer who is sick and I also had to pick my brush chopper up from the dealer so that killed a few hours. Here is how it sat at the end of day 6

Wow, it has been a while. Here is a update. We had to go back to work to make money and now that the weather is turning worse we are getting more time to get the barn done. We finally set the last 6 poles for the other 3 doors and started the retaining wall.

Now for the fun part, I don't have as much time to work on this anymore so we do this when I am around. I recently got engaged to a very beautiful young lady and have been staying with her and her son so the barn has been on hold till I am around the farm to work and we get the cooperation of mother nature (not to mention Hunting season started so we are trying to get out to the woods from time to time). We should get the steel in about a month as we have to order it still sometime. So hopefully we will get the barn floor tiled and filled to level and the walls closed in before Christmas then we can finish it off next spring. I will post pictures when something is actually worth showing. Take care.

Congratulations, could be a new family using that new barn.
Thanks for the update.

Hello again, it has been a while and with our work caught up finally we have been able to work on the barn again. The weather has been nice the last week so we were able to get some things done. We have been working here and there on this barn since December 26 and trying to avoid the rain so we should be done with the outside but this is as far as we got.

All the facia and soffit have been finished. The two 64' long walls have all the metal on except for a 1' piece on the taller wall. Most the fiberglass panels are on the shortest wall. Three of the doors have the metal done around them. The other main door still needs its header as well as the two walk in doors need to be done still. This is as far as we can do till the other walk in door comes in as well as the replacement sheet of steel. Somewhere along the line the next piece of steel that is needed for the back wall was damaged by an errant forklift. So here are the most recent pictures.
