Finish Mower

I need some help here. I have a 25 HP Kioti tractor. My current finish mower is a Caroni imported by LMC I think. Its old and I messed it up. Could not get off one of the nuts to change blades. Tried a torch, liquidwrench, wax, everything. Finally tried angle grinder: I hit the threads. Totally ruined the bolt. So Im screwed. I thought about removing the piece that the bolt is in. Looks like I have to some how remove pulley that belt is on than drop bolt and its assemblydown through deck and I suppose order new part? Other choice new mower. Any thoughts on repair.

As far as new finish mower: Does brand really matter? My current mower is 60 inches. Advantage to going to a 6 foot.

Any help is appreciated

If it is a Caroni, We have the new quill assembly that is shot on yours. We also have the top of the line "First Choice" 60 inch finish mower with solid tires for $1295 + shipping. Ken Sweet

I have an LMC finish mower. The blade mounting bolts have LEFT HAND threads.
I am sure yours will be LHT as well---but I don't think that will help now:thumbsup:

Quill assembly. I assume this is the housing that the pulley attaches to up top and below deck is a threaded bolt? Price? Easy to remove pulley without special tools??

Actually mine were counterclockwise to remove. I know because I removed 2 without a problem

"no you did not mess it up; If you rolled it like my old hired hands the Geico wood chucks did after too many beers and pizza and folded it in half it would be messed up.

"if you need a new arbor they are obtainble as may of them are a metric standard issue with hubs and bearings.


Other choice new mower. Any thoughts on repair.

"The arbor is not damaged unless you cut it with the torch"

The F rotor has 4 rows of knives for 112 knives which has 28 blades per row.

"Just ask to have metric nylock nuts installed to replace the original metric nuts and yes they do make metric nylock nuts"
