The Woods is quite heavy duty I have the RD6000 and it falls into the tank category. I have been impressed with the cut, I think a 72 would probably sell for around $1800, not cheap but I like you use my RFM more than any other PTO attachment and I felt quality was very important conversly I only brush hog 6 or so times per year I bought a Howse for that purpose, I have also been pleasantly surprised by its performance.
Good Luck!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have a Land Pride 60" rear discharge mower. Its built rather heavily and I can't imagine anything ever damaging it (although I'm sure it could happen). I've had and used it for one mowing season (Jul - Oct) w/o problems (I'm careful to do all the recommended maint. though). That said, on uneven ground it can tend to scalp. I think though any wide mower is going to do that to some extent and the LP isn't different from any other mower in that resepct. So, depending on the area you're mowing you might consider an anti-scalp roller. I'm going to put one on my mower for next yr.

I to have a 60" King Cutter (TSC) and have used it weekly during the summer (which last forever in SE Texas) for 2-3 years and the only problem I have had is a flat tire. I grease it every other use or so, but for the $$$ it been a fine mower. If I had it to do over, I would go with the King Kutter of First Choice.

Hi,
I've been very happy with my Landpride FDR2572. It has Zerks where they should be. And the covers come of with knobs so no tools are needed when cleaning.

At the time KingKutter offered no rear discharge mowers.

I never saw a First Choice before. But I'd bet money it came from the same place as my landpride after looking at the photo from Sweettractors. Other than the color the only other difference I see is my covers are plastic.

One other thing. If your cutting on bumpy land or hard clay you may not want the solid wheels. I have them and feel sorry for the beating the poor mower takes. It's nice to have piece of mind there will be no flats. But a few cans of the green goop can cover that in a tire.......

My .02,
I have owned woods, bush hog & now 7' first Choice.
Did not wear any of them out. I guess, kind of like cars, buy one every 10 years if I need it or not.

The first choice is made heavier than my previous two 6' finish mowers. My belt covers probably weigh 25/30 lbs ea. This I don't consider necessary, but the mower as a whole is high quality & heavy.

It is made in Italy by Sicma, I think.

Sicma sell the same mowers under several names here in the states is my understanding.

I am certainly glad I bought mine & saved a bundle.

Good pt...I suspect all brands in the initially posted list are pretty much bullet proof for residential applications.
